Hermann Hesse: a personality, a story

The excursion starts with the visit of the museum of Hermann Hesse in Montagnola, which is established in the house where he has lived from 1919 to 1931. There are also temporary exhibitions, lectures, concerts, films, and weekly readings which can enrich your visit. With pleasure we can also organise a walking tour “Following the trail of Hermann Hesse” where you can walk through the paths which have inspired lots of his artworks. To conclude you could have good lunch in one of our partner Grottos in the region.

Our hotel is located in a region very popular for mountain bikers. In short time you can visit more than 300 km marked and well-preserved routes in Ticino. The variety of trails and the good location of hotel Vezia are the perfect place for both - amateur and professional bikers.

TOURS

The climbing crag of Vezia/Porza is located in a beautiful forest of chestnut trees on the hill of San Rocco.

In constant development during the last 4 years the wall offers several types of difficulty ranging – from beginners to advanced, based on different routes.

The climbing routes are very well equipped with Spit Inox supplied by the O.G from the CAS (Alpine Club of Switzerland), limiters are equipped with karabiners Maillon Rapide. You will need a rope of at least 50 m length. This adventure is only 10-15 minutes away on foot from Hotel Vezia.
